At Fila Manila we are building the 1st Filipino American food platform to represent the 2nd largest Asian American community with ~Zero representation in CPG. This is a $2.2 Billion white space in the surging global flavors space.
Hikerkind is a premium women's outdoor lifestyle brand and hiking community. We outfit women in hiking, lifestyle, rest + recovery apparel, and accessories encompassing all their outdoor needs. Our gear is presented in style systems, bundled to help make informed decisions about the clothing and gear our consumer should take on her next outdoor adventure. Our Hike Club functions as an extension of our brand and supports local communities by hosting group hikes and events.

Applications & Endorsements

All approved startups* will invite their own audiences to endorse them for a chance to participate.

The top 30 companies with the most endorsements will advance to the second round.

*CPG Pre-seed through Seed stage companies only. Have either raised money, are revenue generating, or have been reviewed by our investment team.

Diligence

The top 30 startups with the most endorsements will be reviewed by the Sweater investment team where it will be narrowed down to 3 finalists who will pitch live in NYC on May 31st.

Final Pitch & Voting

The top 3 finalists will be flown to NYC for the FounderMade Innovation Show to pitch in front of a live audience for the chance to win a $250,000 VC investment!

The live audience and the general public will have the chance to vote for your pitch through June 9th when we’ll announce the winner!

Terms and conditions: Founders are eligible to participate in Barnburner NYC if they meet the following criteria (1) you register as a founder through the Sweater app during the 1st round enrollment which runs from 12:00am Pacific Time on May 2nd, 2023 until 11:59pm Pacific time on May 12th, 2023. (2) you are currently the founder of a revenue generating company that has raised previous venture or angel funding OR the Sweater Ventures team has conducted diligence and approved your company to participate. (3) you intend to grow or sell your company either through acquisition or IPO at a future date. (4) you are available May 27th - May 31st, 2023 to travel to New York City if you make it to the 3rd round. Sweater reserves the right to request additional documentation for verification before qualifying any company. Sweater may in its sole discretion change the terms and conditions of Barnburner NYC at any time for any reason.
